Keyboard shortcuts
Every shortcut in Astra, grouped the way the app groups them.
The full list is also in Settings › Keybindings, which is the authoritative one — it reads the live bindings from the app.
General
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Go to File | ⌘P |
| Settings | ⌘, |
| Tasks | ⌘⇧T |
| Archive | ⌘⇧A |
Tasks and Archive are toggles — press again to go back to your spaces.
Chat
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| New Chat | ⌘N |
| New Tab | ⌘T |
| New Task | ⌘⇧C |
| Focus Chat Input | ⌘I |
| Cycle mode (in the composer) | ⇧Tab |
| Pick a tab kind (in the new-tab menu) | number keys |
⌘T opens the new-tab menu; while it’s open, a bare number picks the row at that position — so ⌘T then 1 is a new chat without touching the mouse. The rows are numbered as they appear, and the simulator row only appears when one’s available, so check the menu rather than memorizing a digit.
Layout
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Toggle Left Sidebar | ⌘B |
| Toggle Right Panel | ⌘. |
| Expand Right Panel | ⌘⇧. |
| Show Files | ⌘E |
| Show Changes | ⌘D |
| Show Context | ⌘⇧E |
The period family is the right panel: ⌘. shows and hides it, ⌘⇧. expands it to the wide reading pane.
Terminal
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Focus Terminal | ⌘J |
| Toggle Terminal | ⌘⇧J |
| New Terminal | ⌘` |
| Cycle Terminal | ⌘⇧` |
| Clear Terminal (while focused) | ⌘K |
⌘J and ⌘⇧J are two different verbs, not one toggle: ⌘J puts your cursor in the terminal (revealing it if needed, the way ⌘I does for the composer), while ⌘⇧J folds and unfolds the drawer.
